Lecture 10: Complex Networks - Part 2

Summary

In this lecture we concluded the section on networks. We discussed various centrality measures of nodes like

  • degree centrality
  • betweenness centrality
  • clustering

We also covered the small-world property of many networks as well as the emergence of scale-free degree distributions.

We also discussed the Erdös-Renyi random network as a model network and showed that it doesn't capture a number of important features of real-world networks.
